Welcome Back!

I hope you all had an amazing and beautiful Summer break! 

I am looking forward to meeting everyone. Every year brings me another great set of young adults to build a relationship with. I am trully thankful for this unique opportunity to work with our future. 

Pre-AP English II will start off by finishing out our unit on Anthem, specifically looking at archetypes and the many themes presented in the novella.  Also, we will be using the CEC (Claim, Evidence, and Commentary) format to build both Rogerian and Cicero arguments. Most dominantly, we will be using the rhetorical triangle to influence the direction of our own writing and to analyze all of the literature and informational texts we read this year. 

English II will be questioning what situations necessitate civil disobedience and the power of an idea to move society forward as we read Anthem by Ayn Rand. English II will also be working with the CEC format and the rhetorical triangle.
